Happy 50th Birthday Dave Navarro

An icon of late 80s and 90s alternative rock turns 50 today! Dave Navarro, who remarkably seems to have not aged a day, is best known for being a member of Jane's Addiction since 1986 and has released six studio albums with them.

In the mid-90s he joined Red Hot Chili Peppers for the One Hot Minute album, adding a heavier sound which was a slight departure from the earlier funk-punk they were known for.

Proving to be one of the most saught after guitarists, Dave Navarro plays guitar on the Alanis Morisette hit "You Oughta Know" off her smash Jagged Little Pill album, and you can add Nine Inch Nails, Marylin Manson's "I Don't Like The Drugs (But The Drugs Like Me)", Gun N Roses, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" and Tommy Lee to the immense list of songs and artists he has contributed to as a guitarist in both a recording and touring capacity.

You may have seen Dave Navarro on your TV screen as the host of Rockstar: INXS, Rockstar: Supernova, and Ink Masters.

Dave Navarro sites Jimi Hendrix as his biggest guitar influence.
