Jenny Morris Honoured By Support Act

Posted

Last week longtime Australian based New Zealand singer Jenny Morris was honoured by Support Act – an industry body that offers assistance to musicians in difficulty - at its annual fundraising event, Music In The House. Jenny was the recipient of the Excellence in the Community award in recognition of her musical achievements and her fundraising for charities such as Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia and of course Support Act itself.

Jenny, whose singing career was sadly cut short some years ago by a rare neurological condition that affected her voice, was celebrated by performances from Jimmy Barnes, Montaigne, Diesel and Jenny’s younger singer Shanley Del and Neil Finn, who wrote the great "It’s You I Know" for his fellow New Zealander in the 90s. Jenny also had songs written for her back in the day by Paul Kelly and members of INXS, who she spent time with as a backing singer before her solo career took off.
