Synthpop legends New Order today celebrate 35 years since the release of their second album Power, Lies & Corruption.

The album was a Top 40 hit in Australia and Top 5 in New Zealand, and was a more electronic approach than previous album Movement

The biggest single on the album was "Age Of Consent" which was used in many films and TV ads, and also covered by a range of artists including Buzzcocks and Arcade Fire.

The cover art has an interesting story - it is a reproduction of the painting "A Basket of Roses" by French artist Henri Fantin-Latour, which is part of the National Gallery's permanent collection in London, and was among the ten album covers chosen by the British Royal Mail for a set of "Classic Album Cover" postage stamps issued in January 2010. It also won the NME Award for Best Dressed Sleeve in 1983.
