Very sad news this morning about Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington passing away at the age of 41.

Since the release of their debut album Hybrid Theory in 2000, Linkin Park became synonymous with fusing genres and their recognisable sound incorporated hard rock, metal, rap and electronica. Radio support from Triple M crossed this band into a mainstream rock audience and as a result, they had several #1 albums in Australia, selling millions of albums globally.

Chester notably collaborated with some of rock's biggest icons including his close friend Chris Cornell, and for a period of time fronted Stone Temple Pilots

One memorable Linkin Park gig at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre saw Chester Bennington play with a broken wrist after fracturing it at the Melbourne concert the night before. Guitarist Brad Delson said the frontman commonly pushed through the pain during his energetic performances.

"Just so you’re clear that’s not out of the norm for him – he really sacrifices his body every night on stage. If someone told him that he needed to slow down or not jump off the speakers, he would still do it – in the moment of the show he never holds back." said Delson.

He will be sorely missed by the entire rock and metal community.

Let's look at a couple of Linkin Park's most notable singles...
