Terribly sad news in this morning as we hear of the passing of one of music's greatest, Tom Petty, who has passed away at the age of 66. 

An outpouring of dedications on social media have appeared today for the man who influenced countless musicians and songwriters. Best known as the frontman of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, as well as 80s supergroups the Travelling Wilburys and a solo artist, he is remembered as a prolific songwriter, musician and record producer who sold more than 80 million albums worldwide. 

"It’s shocking, crushing news," Petty's friend and Traveling Wilburys bandmate Bob Dylan said to Rolling Stone in a statement. "I thought the world of Tom. He was a great performer, full of the light, a friend, and I’ll never forget him."

In 2002 Tom Petty was rightfully inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame.
