THE AMORPHOUS ANDROGYNOUS PRESENT AN ANTIPODEAN COSMIC SPACE MUSIC ODYSSEY FROM 1966 TO NOW!

Featuring Russell Morris, Tame Impala, Pond, Cybotron, Pip Proud, Sons of the Vegetal Mother and more!

After two years of extensive crate-digging and foraging, UK psychedelic DJ duo the Amorphous Androgynous return with the latest installment in their award winning series ‘A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble (Exploding In Your Mind) - The Wizards Of Oz ‘. Alternatively known as the Future Sound of London, the Amorphous Androgynous have managed to push their psychedelic manifesto far and wide in no small part down to the far reaching influence of their Monstrous Bubbles but also via their own radical psychedelic re-imaginings of other artists recordings including the likes of Oasis, Paul Weller, Syd Arthur, Pop Levi and DJ Food. In addition,  they famously produced Noel Gallagher’s legendary ‘lost’ album of which two tracks will feature on Noel’s forthcoming album ‘Chasing Yesterday’.

As the title suggests, ‘The Wizards Of Oz’ is devoted exclusively to the rich heritage of cosmic space music from AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND. In keeping with previous volumes of this acclaimed series, it traces the lineage from the sixties to the present day, reappraising the meaning of the term ‘psychedelic’ along the way. The tracks are expertly woven and mashed together to form a trip as enjoyable as it is both enlightening and educational.

‘The Wizards of Oz’ comprises two hour+ long mixes of tracks both classic and rare from Australia and New Zealand. It opens with one of the most famous Australian songs of all-time – Russell Morris’ 1969 Ian Meldum-produced opus ‘The Real Thing’, and features  recordings from today’s psych supremoes Tame Impala and Pond. In between there’s backwards Bo Diddley from the Missing Links, flaming guitar from New Zealand’s Doug Jerebine, bubble babble from legendary musical magician Krozier with The Generator, a ‘90s wig-out from The Sunset Strip (with Joel Sibersher on vocals), aus-kosmiche music from Cybotron, the classic 1970 psychout ‘Love Is The Law’ by Ross Wilson & Mike Rudd’s Sons of the Vegetal Mother and much more, including all manner of outsider sounds from the likes of Pip Proud, Kanguru, Air, Rob Thomsett, Kanguru, Hiroshi & Claudio and Leong Lau.

Praise for Previous Amorphous Androgynous’ ‘A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble’ Releases:

"… hardcore, braincore bashing psychedelia, the Amorphous Androgynous have become a hiply droppable name" (NME)

"Album of the year or any other year.... fucking mindblowing" (Noel Gallagher, Rolling Stone magazine)

"…a reinterpretation of psychedelic music tracing the dots from its birth in 1967 to the present - a dj trip through over 4 decades of genre busting, sonically diverse music. .. a true sonic trip." (Rough Trade)

"Quite simply the best compilation album ever!" (Time Out)
