A new Bee Gees documentary called, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart has been announced for release later this year and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

The film, directed by Frank Marshall, premiered earlier this year at the 2020 Telluride Film Festival and is described as “an intimate look” at the three brothers, Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb – who wrote more than 1000 songs and twenty number one hits during their storied career. Promising to delve deeper into the artists at the centre of the iconic 1970s pop group, beyond their disco-era stardom.

“Like so many people, I’ve loved the Bee Gees’ music all my life,” Marshall said in an interview with Deadline, “But discovering their uncanny creative instincts and the treasure trove of music, their humour, and loyalty was a great two-year journey. We are very happy and proud to be with HBO, and it has been an honour to work on this project.”

The film’s co-producer, Nigel Sinclair added, “This is a story of how three brothers with paramount musical gifts created music that touched the collective unconscious across five continents for five decades straight.”

“It is brotherhood and family, creativity, entertainment, joy, and tragedy. We all feel very privileged to be involved.”

No release date for How Can You Mend A Broken Heart has been announced yet – we will keep you posted!
