We're pretty excited to get stuck into this new book, Classic Albums, by respected author Alan J. Whiticker (British Pop Invasion) who looks at the impact that classic albums had in an era when vinyl ruled… and how their legacy lives on in subsequent generations.

From the Beatles ‘White Album’ in 1968 to Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in 1973, this eclectic group of records had a huge influence on the prevailing pop culture of the late 1960s and early 1970s – and making the Top 40 and receiving a gold record were not the only measures of success.

The book does a deep diver into the following albums;

The Beatles ‘The White Album’ / The Beatles (1968)
Tommy / The Who (1969)
Led Zeppelin III / Led Zeppelin (1970)
All Things Must Pass / George Harrison (1970)
L.A. Woman / Doors (1971)
Ram / Paul and Linda McCartney (1971)
Sticky Fingers / The Rolling Stones (1971)
Imagine / John Lennon (1971)
American Pie / Don McLean (1971)
Harvest / Neil Young (1972)
School’s Out / Alice Cooper (1972)
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road / Elton John (1973)

With a special mention going out to...

Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. / The Monkees (1967)
Cosmo’s Factory / Creedence Clearwater Revival (1970)
Teaser and the Firecat / Cat Stevens (1971)
The Yes Album / Yes (1971)
Hunky Dory / David Bowie (1971)
Nilsson Schmilsson / Harry Nilsson (1971)
Sail Away / Randy Newman (1972)
Tubular Bells / Mike Oldfield (1973)
Wish You Were Here / Pink Floyd (1975)
Desire / Bob Dylan (1976)
