David Bowie’s Birthday is Being Marked By A “Cinematic” Star-Studded Tribute This Weekend

David Bowie’s pianist, Mike Garson is hosting a star-studded virtual tribute concert this weekend, to mark what would have been the late icon’s 74th birthday. The event also falls close to the 5th anniversary of Bowie’s passing on Jan 10th, 2016. 

A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day! will air on January 8th in the U.S. – and January 9th here in Australia. The INCREDIBLE all-star lineup includes (among many!) Trent ReznorBilly Corgan, Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro, actors Gary Oldman and Ricky GervaisIan AstburyDuran Duran; plus “at least one Bowie alumni band member from every studio album (and more), from his 1969 self-titled debut to 2016's Blackstar.”  You can check out the full list, here.

A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day! hosted by Bowie’s pianist, Mike Garson, will air in Australia on Saturday, January 9th at 12pm AEST (1pm Daylight Saving Time) and be available for 24 hours after it ends.
