David Byrne wrapped up his revolutionary American Utopia tour in Adelaide only a couple of weeks ago and to celebrate the art-pop icon has released a six-track live EP titled, "...The Best Live Show Of All Time" NME - recorded earlier this year at Brooklyn’s King's Theatre.

NME’s reviewer, Tom Connick was so awestruck by the genius of Byrne’s radical and avant-garde re-imagining of what a band could be that he proclaimed the theatrical performance a masterpiece, concluding it “may just be the best live show of all time.”

There’s plenty to be said for the benefits of a good review, but this one really took on a life of its own. More people went to see the show, and more people confirmed it wasn’t just good – it was a mind-blowing, ultramodern, joyous celebration of all that it means to be alive.

The stage stripped of amps, leads and equipment, performers roaming free with their instruments, the show was a hot mess of futuristic, organized chaos steeped in inclusivity, diversity and positivity. It was a piece of truly original modern art, that none could define, but all could verify that it, “may just be the best live show of all time.”

So, how does one sign-off on being affirmed the most innovative artist alive on planet Earth? With irony of course.

“...The Best Live Show Of All Time” …NME, is a six-track live recording of the performance, and includes Talking Heads favourites like “I Zimbra” and “This Must Be The Place (Nave Melody).”

You can stream it below as part of the deluxe edition of American Utopia.

While nothing can possibly capture the magic of the actual live performance, when it comes to something this good, the next best thing is still a monumental cut above the rest that's definitely not to be missed!
