Dorothy Taylor, everyone’s favourite drumming grandma, has broken the internet with her latest lesson, clocking up 22 million views on TikTok!
According to her official Instagram bio, Dorothy has played behind the kit for over 57 years and is a private drumming instructor by trade. Last January, she found viral success with a wildly unexpected drum cover of Disturbed’s “Down With The Sickness,” followed by a cover of Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun” that caught singer Hayley William’s attention, tweeting in response: “Love her, she’s a badass.”

To date, the video has been viewed over 22 million times. Writing in response to the viral response, Dorothy wrote: “Okay this is incredible to me!!! Thank you to any of you who added to these numbers! I am truly blessed!”
During a 2019 interview with Drum Magazine, Taylor said: “Drummers come in all ages, sizes, shapes, ethnicities,” she explained last year. “And regardless of how good you are, how old you are, we’re all still part of the drumming family.”
