It has been announced that the highest selling album of all time for over a decade, Michael Jackson's Thriller, has just been overtaken by the Eagles with Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 collection. Registered in the USA as 38x Platinum. To put that into perspective, Platinum = 1,000,000 sales, so we're talking 38 million sales in the US alone.

Previously ti held the record for highest-selling Greatest Hits compilation, and now it takes the title as the highest-selling album overall.

Remarkably, the Eagles Hotel California ranks as the third highest.

“We are grateful for our families, our management, our crew, the people at radio and, most of all, the loyal fans who have stuck with us through the ups and downs of 46 years. It’s been quite a ride,” Eagles’ Don Henley said in a statement.

The album is a collection of 10 timeless songs including faves "Take It Easy", "Desperado", "One Of These Nights" and "Take It To The Limit".
