Goldie Hawn released an album in 1972, with guests including Dolly Parton and Buck Owens. It’s pretty neat – All Music call it “a sweetly endearing country-tinged middle of the road pop record of a style that just isn't being made anymore” - and it’s just been released digitally, meaning you can hear it here.
The album was called Butterfly, and it was released the same year as Goldie appeared in the film Butterflies Are Free. The film prominently features a song of the same name, which is NOT the song “Butterfly” on the album, which is sung in French. Just in case you need to know.

Oh, and more Goldie music trivia – we all know she’s Kate Hudson’s mother yeah? Did you know that Kate’s dad, Bill Hudson, was a member of the Hudson Brothers, a fine group who never got taken seriously because they starred in a kids TV show. But the Hudson Brothers made some fine records, including the heavily Beatles-indebted gem “So You Are A Star”.
