Some not-so-cryptic tweets from the trio of punk-emo titans has caused a massive wave of excitement for Aussie fans as we hold our breath waiting for some big news to drop!

Green Day, Weezer and Fall Out Boy are some of the most enduring names in rock, who could undoubtedly whip fans into a frenzy with an announcement of their own standalone tour. Instead, they’ve decided to go large and team for a phenomenal, triple-threat bill, appropriately titled, ‘Hella Mega Tour’. The punk-emo titans announced a run of shows back in September last year, spanning across multiple countries, and an extensive run across the US with this hilarious Anchorman parody video:

Us Aussies have been dying to know if we will be included in the 90s throwback extravaganza! Now, a series of cryptic tweets from all three headliners that appeared simultaneously on social media yesterday – the same string of emojis, an Australian flag, a NZ flag, and a smiley face covering their mouth with the classic “I know something you don’t” gesture, have us thinking our prayers may have just been answered…

There’s also some pretty substantial evidence to back up the theory: The Hella Mega Twitter account also shared a screengrab of the three bands’ tweets –

Plus, It’s been a minute between Aussie trips for all three bands: Weezer and Fall Out Boy were both out here separately in 2018, while Green Day last made the jaunt over back in 2017. Adding to that, both Green Day and Weezer are gearing up to release new albums in 2020 – Billie Joe and co are set to release The Father of All… this week.

While Weezer will release their fourteenth studio album, Van Weezer in May. First single, “The End Of The Game” is out now:

The tour also includes some killer supports! Although nothing has been officially announced just yet, we’re certainly hoping that if an Australian tour is indeed on the cards, they will continue their pairing with our own pub rock heroes Amyl and the Sniffers.
