Photographic proof of the two monochromatically named Jacks meeting only first surfaced earlier this year when White's Raconteurs ran into Black's rock-comedy duo, Tenacious D at London's Heathrow Airport. After posting this photo to their Instagram account, some fan’s questioned: "If Jack Black and Jack White met up, would they become Jack Gray?

And now, only a few months later, that question has been answered with news that, yes, the two are officially collaborating under the name Jack Gray!

In a new video posted to Jack Black’s YouTube channel, Black and his Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass make a tour stop at the Nashville headquarters of Jack White’s label, Third Man Records. White takes them on a Willy Wonka style tour of museum/studio/arthouse/gallery, steeped in satire, as you would expect from the hyperactive rock-comedy duo. The tour includes a curious history of the some of the illustrious concerts performed at Third Man, "All of Led Zepplin’s…all of their moms did a show together…I think one of them’s like 105."

Later, Black and Gass head to White’s house to work on their joint track but that’s as far as the cameras can go. When the pair emerge, they report that White’s house is officially “off the chain” and that the new song is a “stone cold jam”, the rest of us will just have to wait and see.

There's no word yet on when the mysterious Jack Gray tack will be released, but from all the chat about Third Man's record-breaking turn around time, we're guessing it won't be too long. Until then, enjoy the mini-documentary below:
