Los Angeles Celebrates Day Of The Doors

The second annual Day Of The Doors was celebrated in Los Angeles last week. This year saw the unveiling of intersecting street signs for Morrison Street and Densmore Avenue in Encino. The streets are older than the band's members that share their names (singer Jim Morrison and drummer John Densmore), so it's simply serendipity that they intersect.

John Densmore was on hand to read some of Jim’s poetry and unveil the signs.

He speculated that both Morrison and Manzarek would have enjoyed the festivities. "You can't say what Jim would say or have done because he always would do something different, but I bet he would have been here, and he would've dug it," he said. "I think he would have been proud."
