Nile Rodgers Is A Legend

Nile Rodgers is a record producer, songwriter, musician, composer, arranger, and guitarist. There’s pretty much nothing he hasn’t contributed to in the world of music. Famed for his "chucking" rhythm guitar style he has become an icon and inspiration and is responsible for so many smash hit songs that it’s almost impossible to count.

Originally the lead guitarist and co-founding member with Bernard Edwards of Chic, who have been active since 1976, became one of the most successful groups of the disco era. Chic are returning to Australia in 2018 to support Lionel Richie on tour. Info here.

Although he recorded three solo albums during the 1980s and 1990s, and one as part of the short-lived group Outloud, Rodgers found more success in collaborations as a producer and performer with many artists including Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, Sheena Easton, David Bowie, Bryan Ferry, Duran Duran, Madonna, INXS,  and more recently, Daft Punk, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Keith Urban and Christina Aguilera amongst a plethora of others.

In April this year Nile Rodgers was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received an Award for Musical Excellence.

Let’s take a look at a small handful of some of his work…
