The massive Sign O’ The Times reissue, featuring over 60 previously unheard songs from Prince’s treasured vault, is set to arrive next week and in the lead up, the Prince Estate have given us another sneak preview of all the unreleased tunes and rarities headed our way.

Prince's previously unreleased, funked-out, five-and-a-half-minute epic, “I Need a Man” was originally recorded at the Washington Avenue Warehouse in January, 1987 by engineer Susan Rogers and sounds right at home with the Sign O’ the Times tracklisting. Apparently, it was one of four tracks Prince offered to singer and guitarist Bonnie Raitt back in 1981 – hence the title. Listen below.

So far, Prince’s Estate has shared “Forever In My Life (Early Vocal Studio Run-Through)” “Witness 4 the Prosecution (Version 2),”  “Cosmic Day,” “Witness 4 The Prosecution (Version 1)” and “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man” from the forthcoming release.

The reissue features a remastered version of the album’s original tracks, plus over 60 previously unreleased tracks from Prince’s legendary vault, and two concert recordings from the era – an audio version of his 1987 concert at Stadium Galgenwaard in the Netherlands, and a DVD of the New Year’s Eve benefit concert that he held at Paisley Park the same year.
