Prince’s Guitar, Jim Morrison’s Journal, Oasis Lyrics & More Up for Auction

A massive stash of music memorabilia is set to be unveiled when Julien's Music Icons 2020 collection hits the auction block next month. Items open for bidding include those previously owned by Prince, the Beatles, Guns N’ Roses, Elvis Presley, Queen, Jim Morrison, Steely Dan and more.

One item expected to go for top dollar is Prince’s ‘Blue Cloud’ guitar which was custom made for the musician in 1984. The instrument is adorned with Prince’s signature love symbol on the neck and is slated to fetch anywhere between $100,000 to $200,000. On the more affordable end of the spectrum of Prince items, you’ll find his two-piece purple suit, his love symbol belt buckle, a 14-Karat white gold pendant, wedding china and more.

The Music Icons 2020 collection also features Jim Morrison’s rare Paris Journal, filled with notes and poems written by the singer before his death in 1971. which he extensively filled with poems shortly before his death in 1971, a handwritten poem titled “Ode to L.A. While Thinking of Brian Jones, Deceased” and a photograph of Morrison with a snake in his hair is also up for auction.

There is literally something for everyone in the extensive collection with over 700 items in total! Amongst the most distinctive pieces are some of David Bowie’s unreleased alternate versions of songs recorded in 1966; an assortment of jewellery, accessories and personal items that belonged to Elvis Presley; a page of handwritten lyrics for “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” penned by Paul McCartney; a guitar previously owned by Eddie Van Halen; a drum kit played by the Police’s Stewart Copeland; outfits worn by Elton John, Mick Jagger, AC/DC, and Freddie Mercury; original handwritten lyrics by Oasis and Steely Dan and an MTV Moon Man that previously belonged to Guns N’ Roses
