Terribly sad news this morning that Irish singer-songwriter Dolores O'Riordan, best known for fronting The Cranberries, has passed away.

Aged just 46, she died suddenly in London during a recording session. The cause of death is not yet known, however various news sources report that back in 2015 following an incident on a plane she was receiving medical treatment for mental illness.

Dolores recently divorced her husband Don Burton (Duran Duran's longtime tour manager) and has three children.

The Cranberries shot to fame in the early 90s with the release of their first two albums Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? (1993) and No Need To Argue (1994) which delivered the worldwide smash hit "Zombie".

The Cranberries are Irelands second highest selling band after U2.
