A new documentary focused on Jimi Hendrix’s historic 1970 Hawaii concert, the extraordinary circumstances that led to the legendary event and the blazing performance itself, will be released in November this year.
Music, Money, Madness… Jimi Hendrix In Maui features incredible footage of the late rock icon in top form as he slayed his way through many of his biggest hits at the foot of Maui’s Haleakala volcano. Lucky locals gathered around for the intimate performance, seated amidst the breathtaking scenery (apparently arranged by their astrological signs) to witness history in the making. Watch below.

The film, which was directed by Chuck Wein, will include previously unseen archival footage along with interviews from who were involved with the project who reflect on the obstacles of pulling together an ambitious show in a psychedelic fuelled setting. Music, Money, Madness... Jimi Hendrix In Maui is due out November 20th.
