Prince's musical collaborator, Sheila E. is working on an upcoming biopic, Girl Meets Boy, detailing the “beautiful” relationship she developed working with the icon in the late 80s.
The percussionist announced the news in a social media post, reading: “Coming soon…Sheila E. to release ‘Girl Meets Boy’, a film telling the beautiful story of her time with Prince. Stay Tuned.”

Prince and Sheila first met at a concert in the late ’70s, but it wasn’t until the 1984 Purple Rain sessions – Sheila performed vocals on “Let’s Go Crazy” and “Erotic City – that their musical relationship blossomed – along with a brief romantic relationship that will undoubtedly find mention in her upcoming biopic.
Sheila later served as the drummer and musical director of Prince's live band between 1987 and 1989, during which his iconic Sign O’ the Times album was released.
