Streetwear legends, Supreme have started stacking up some hugely iconic rock and roll collaborations of late! The brand has previously released collaborations with Neil Young and Morrissey before that. Now, they have just unveiled an extensive new drop in honour of New York cult heroes, The Velvet Underground.
The brand collaborated with Velvet's singer, Lou Reed a decade ago now on a simple T-shirt that featured an image of Reed wearing a Supreme t-shirt printed on to a Supreme shirt, but this collection is much bigger! Supreme/The Velvet Underground includes a rayon shirt, a ringer t-shirt, two hoodies and three t-shirt designs.
The rayon shirt featuring album artwork from Loaded is a clear standout, and a T-shirt featuring images from the group’s first album The Velvet Underground & Nico which offers a more subtle homage to the band. Elsewhere, German singer Nico shows up on an over-all print hoodie and portraits of the band feature on Ringer T-shirts. The only thing missing is Andy Warhol’s iconic banana print from The Velvet Underground & Nico cover!
