The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognises and archives the history of the best-known and most influential artists, producers, engineers, and other notable figures who have had some major influence on the development of rock and roll.

Five artists have been named as the 2018 Rock 'n'Roll Hall of Fame Inductees for a ceremony that will take place on April 14 next year.

The inductees are...

Bon Jovi

Jon Bon Jovi told USA Today that the band were “really pleased, obviously, relieved, humbled”. 

Nina Simone

The Cars

The Moody Blues

Dire Straits

Sister Rosetta Tharpe will also be honoured and inducted into the Hall’s Early Influences wing.

 Other nominees included Kate Bush, Rage Against The Machine, Radiohead and Depeche Mode.
