10. IT JUST HAPPENS
30 years after their international breakthrough with 'The Look', Roxette is back with the new single "It Just Happens", a majestic and highly infectious ballad that introduces the band’s tenth album Good Karma (out now).
One of the first songs to be written for the new album, it revisits that mighty and classic Roxette sound with an updated twist, with Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle seamlessly taking turns as lead singers.
“For the new record we wanted to combine our classic Roxette sound with a modern and slightly unpredictable production to create a soundscape where you would both recognise our sound and find something new,” Per Gessle says.
”It just happens/You don’t know what’s going on/If it’s new or if it’s been there since long”.
The lyrics could just as well be about Roxette’s incredible 30 years as one of the most beloved and still active pop groups. Still touring in front of tens of thousands of fans night after night. And still being able to produce those radio-ready songs that get into your head, never to leave.

The early 2000's were a tough time for Roxette fans, but even harder for singer Marie Fredriksson who was recovering from a life threatening brain tumor. In 2003, the band released an upbeat collection of Roxette hits entitled ___ with "Opportunity Nox" as the lead single. A pulsing pop/dance track with a trippy animated video.
This track is a favourite when performed live, but can be hard to come by on record. You can find it on Roxette's "The 30 Biggest Hits XXX"

An obvious number one, I admit. There isn’t a soul alive who cannot say they don’t love this track – Roxette fan or not. It’s pop at its finest and the video is equally as memorable; the band speeding down a U.S highway, playing guitar on top of a red corvette. Love it!
3. Dangerous
Overflowing with hooks, Dangerous is another one of the bands monster singles from 1988 s Look Sharp and was a #2 hit for the band in the U.S. The video for this, along with Listen To Your Heart, was shot within the impressive surroundings of Sweden’s Borgholm Castle.
"Dangerous" is a song by the Swedish rock duo Roxette. Written by Per Gessle, the song was released as the fifth and final single from their second studio album Look Sharp! (1988). Gessle penned it just before Roxette's first tour in 1987.[1] Released at the end of 1989, it was the group's third top 10 showing on the Billboard Hot 100, spending two weeks at #2 in February 1990, kept from the #1 spot by Janet Jackson'sEscapade. The music video was performed in the ruins of Borgholm Castle. It was released as a double A-side in the UK, alongside Listen to Your Heart.
The video for Dangerous was filmed during Roxette s concert at Borgholm Castle in öland, Sweden, in July 1989. It is a mix from rehearsal & live performance at that show and was directed by Doug Freel.
Borgholm Castle is today only a ruin of the fortress that was first built in the second half of the 12th century and rebuilt many times in later centuries
