Vale Robbie Souter Of The Dynamic Heptonics

Posted

Sad news for fans of Aussie Pop, Rhythm & Blues, Blues and Soul – Robbie Souter, longtime drummer of the Dynamic Hepnotics passed away from liver disease.

Robbie first recorded with the short-lived progressive band Lizard in ’73 – their album Bad Companions came out on the Harvest label. Some years later he became a member of Gulliver’s Travels, a band led by legendary Company Caine frontman Gulliver Smith. He was with the Hepnotics when they formed in ’79, and was part of the bands’ plans for shows in June to celebrate the release of a new live album and DVD - check them out on Facebook for updates on all that as well as an official note from the band.

Along the way he also played with The Keith Glass Band, Slim Dusty, Mental As Anything, Mentals spin off blues band the Pinks and no doubt many others..

R.I.P Robbie
