Earlier this week (Mon 8th), Dave Grohl appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to chat about the Foo Fighter’s upcoming album, Medicine at Midnight, and share some fascinating anecdotes on a range of topics, notably, David Bowie

Grohl recalled emailing back and forth with the icon after the pair met at Bowie’s epic 50th birthday celebrations at Madison Square Garden in 1997 when he reached out to see if Bowie wanted to collaborate on a track. Bowie’s quirky sense of humour made for a thrilling email exchange. Watch him tell the story below.

Last month, the fourth instalment of David Bowie’s ongoing Brilliant Live Adventures series of six live albums from the 1990s was released. Look At The Moon! (Live Phoenix Festival 97) was recorded at The Phoenix Festival in Long Marston, England on July 20, 1997, and features previously unreleased rarities, including covers of Lou Reed’s “White Light/White Heat” and Laurie Anderson’s “O’ Superman.”
