It’s been three decades since Ian Moss launched his post-Cold Chisel career with the phenomenal debut solo album Matchbook. In recent months, Mossy has been gearing up to celebrate 30 years of the multi-platinum release with an expanded reissue, featuring bonus collection of never before released live recordings and rare B-sides.

Matchbook 30th Anniversary expands the original album with nine songs from Mossy’s spellbinding 1989 performance at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. In this electric rendition of the album’s lead single, “Tucker's Daughter” the stage is radiating with energy and spirit as Mossy and his virtuoso guitar skills shine through in this effortless delivery of an Aussie classic. Check it out below:

“Tucker's Daughter” [Live at Hordern Pavilion]

“We decided early on to capture the November 16th show at Sydney’s iconic Hordern Pavilion,” Ian says. “When I look back on it now, I can’t believe that 30 years have rolled by so fast. But it does capture that time in our country's music history where people needed an outlet from the everyday grind. That night the band and I saw the audience were up for a Thursday night party, so we did our best to deliver.” - Ian Moss.

A number of B-sides from the Matchbook era will also be included in the Matchbook 30th Anniversary collection. A cover of the jazz standard “Angel Eyes”, the Don Walker co-write “The Dummy” and Ian’s self-penned “Islands” and “Answermachine Blues” have been unavailable on digital streaming services until now. The set also includes Matchbook singles “Tucker’s Daughter”, “Telephone Booth” and “Mr Rain”, as well as an epic 10-minute rendition of Cold Chisel’s “Bow River”. The album is available for pre-order on CD and Digital formats here.

Matchbook is also available on limited edition white vinyl here.

Later this year, Ian Moss will embark on a massive national tour to celebrate the classic album. Check out the tour dates and info HERE
