"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" was originally a folk song recorded in the 50s and then recorded and made popular by Joan Baez in 1962. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were both fans of Baez, but added a much heavier classic rock sound for Led Zeppelin's interpretation included on their debut album in 1969.

"How Many More Times" is the longest track on the debut album, and one of three songs where Jimmy Page played guitar with a bow. In an interview with Rolling Stone in 1993, Page stated that the song "was made up of little pieces I developed when I was with the Yardbirds, as were other numbers such as "Dazed and Confused"".

And here is the full 30-minute session with the addition of "Communication Breakdown" and Dazed and Confused".

It's hard to believe that this album was released 50 years ago, and safe to say that it set the standard for everything that came after it. Has it ever been bettered? Let us know over on our Facebook page, here.

Get stuck into this special Led Zeppelin playlist on Spotify that celebrates 50 years of one of the greatest bands of all time.
