Sammy Hagar and the Circle have been passing time in quarantine with an ongoing  Lockdown Sessions series, which has previously delivered us rocking renditions of songs by the Who, Van Halen and Bob Marley and the Wailers. In the latest addition to the series, the band have shared a high-octane take on an Aussie classic, AC/DC’s “Whole Lotta Rosie” from 1977.

Drummer, Jason Bonham kicks off proceedings with a call to Hagar, saying: “I think I have an idea for Lockdown Sessions number five. Do you remember the AC/DC song we used to do in Cabo? I’m sure you do, though you may not remember many things that go on in Cabo.”

But as soon as the song kicks in, it’s clear that Sammy remembers just fine – including the slick guitar solo. Watch below:

All four musicians – Hagar, guitarist Vic Johnson, bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Jason Bonham – recorded their parts smartphones from their respective homes. The band previously performed “Whole Lotta Rosie” every night of a four-night Birthday Bash at Cabo Wabo in Mexico, in October 2016.

Hagar said in a press release: "When we're on tour, these are the songs we've been jamming to backstage for years to warm up. We warm-up for about an hour before we go on stage, and play everything from James Brown and AC/DC to the Bee Gees, the Who and Hank Williams... you name it. So until we can get back to our live shows. these Lockdown Session are a great way to keep the band close and keep our chops up."
