It’s already been a massive year for Dolly Parton! From her all-star Grammy tribute when she won the MusiCares ‘Person of the Year’ award back in February, to her 50th anniversary celebrations with the Grand Ole Opry just last month, Dolly shows no signs of slowing down, if anything she seems to be busier than ever!
Now, Netflix has just announced a new series called Dolly Parton's Heartstrings is set for release on November 22. The anthology series will transform eight Dolly Parton songs into “eight Dolly stories” showcasing the “memories and inspirations” behind the country icon’s biggest hits. The first trailer gives us a glimpse of the dramas based on iconic songs like "Two Doors Down," "JJ Sneed" – and of course, "Jolene." Check it out below:

There’s so much to look forward to based on this trailer, alone! “Songs: they’re just stories put to music,” Parton says at the top of the clip. “Songs that I’ve written, they’re stories of my life.” The eight one-hour standalone episodes appear to be introduced by Parton, in the style of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, with the country icon also starring in the series. “Jolene, will you get your pretty lil butt up here and help me sing,” she says in one scene as she speaks down the mic to a crowded bar.
Starring in Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings are the likes of Ginnifer Goodwin, Kathleen Turner, Delta Burke, Melissa Leo, and Julianne Hough. Its soundtrack contains both new and old Parton numbers. Dolly Parton's Heartstrings is out on Netflix November 22nd.
