
We stumbled across this 1978 performance and interview with Van Halen on Japanese TV and thought it worth sharing just for the giggles.
You can't say they don't give it 100% even if blatantly miming, and it can't be easy answering questions when you clearly don't understand the host. Looks like a lot of fun, regardless!
Van Halen really started to hit their stride in the late 70s and this version of The Kinks' classic taken from their debut self-titled album was a springboard into bigger opportunities such as touring with Black Sabbath. David Lee Roth has been a resident of Tokyo since 2012 so it's fair to say that Japan had a residing impact on him! He studies martial arts, in addition to learning Japanese and working in his recording studio there.
