The loss of Eddie Van Halen in October last year hit the music world hard, and has inspired a string of tributes honouring the rock icon – and this latest offering from Japanese band, Unlucky Morpheus, is truly mind-blowing!

The band have unleashed a cover of Van Halen’s “Eruption” featuring Violinist, Jill – the star of the band and only member to appear in their videos. She rips through the 1978 metal classic, shredding with the sort of raw fury and speed that would make Eddie proud – it’s a rare sight to see from a classical soloist! Watch stunning rendition of  “Eruption” below.

“Eruption” is widely considered one of the greatest guitar solos of all time, with Eddie’s trademark tapping at full throttle proves him truly irreplaceable; but we think Jill’s thrilling rendition is a worthy tribute to his genius! Watch the guitar god in action below.
