Where Were You When We Were Getting High?

Where Were You When We Were Getting High?

It doesn’t really feel like the best part of 20 years since the Oasis frenzy. But amazingly it is. I suppose we were all out getting high. Or sobering up. One or the other.

And now a deluxe edition of (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? is back near the top of the UK charts.

We probably don’t need more sales of the 5th highest (yes really!) selling album in UK history, and maybe we don’t need a full CD of live takes from the time (even to help us recall just how good a rock star Liam once was), but it was nice to see a Brendan Lynch’s mix of Champagne Supernova dusted off as a reminder of when Brendan’s mixes added the “cosmic” to Noel’s psych rock superballad.

At least it was a nice idea until it turned out not to be this brilliant Lynchmob Beats mix below, so in the interests of history lets dust that off too. This one is everything you’d want … kind of wild, wigged out and fookin’ well smart (in Liam speak)

It’s a real trip out and quite awesome but not (of course) Brendan’s best mix which has to go to this “Never Come Down” Paul Weller effort complete with Ball Of Confusion riff and whale/siren noises -

Kosmosic.
