He was lovingly surrounded by his wife and soulmate Jan and son Django. Although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us. His legacy will continue to live on through his legendary music. Peace, love, and harmony to all who knew David and those he touched. We will miss him dearly. At this time, we respectfully and kindly ask for privacy as we grieve and try to deal with our profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers."</p> <p>Crosby was born in Los Angeles in 1941. He joined the Byrds in 1964, alongside Gene Clark, Jim McGuinn and Chris Hillman, who scored a number-one hit in 1965 with a cover of Bon Dylan’s <i>Tambourine Man</i>.</p> <p><b>The Byrds | ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’ on <i>The Ed Sullivan Show</i></b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-pnstcrl1-e0" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/PnstCrL1_e0?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>A year after the Byrds disbanded in 1967, Crosby founded Crosby, Stills &amp; Nash with fellow folk rock icons, Stephen Stills of Buffalo Springfield and Graham Nash from the Hollies. CS&amp;N’s eponymous debut album, a defining record of L.A.’s Laurel Canyon scene in the late-60s, arrived in 1969 and earned them a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. </p> <p>Soon after, <strong>Neil Young</strong>, who had previously playing in Buffalo Springfield with Stills, joined the lineup. CSN&amp;Y were classic rock’s pioneer supergroup, performing their second show ever together at Woodstock in 1969. Despite the band members’ stormy relations, together they produced crystalline classics, timeless to this day.</p> <p><b>Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; Young | ‘Teach Your Children’</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-dqoaunsmjr8" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/dQOaUnSmJr8?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>Together, Crosby, Stills &amp; Nash (and sometimes Young) released eight studio albums, including 1970’s <i>‘Déjà Vu’ </i>which sold in the multi-millions. Despite CSN&amp;Y’s multiple break ups and reunions over the years, and Crosby’s personal troubles stemming from a hedonistic lifestyle, he produced a staggering amount of music across his career. He released a number of solo albums, starting with <i>If I Could Only Remember My Name </i>in 1971, and also appeared on stacks of classic albums by the likes of <strong>Joni Mitchell</strong>, <strong>James Taylor</strong>, <strong>Carole King</strong>, <strong>Jackson Browne</strong>, <strong>Elton John</strong> and more. </p> <p>Crosby was inducted into the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame twice, in 1991 with the Byrds and again in 1997 with CS&amp;N, making them the first band to have all members inducted twice. </p> <p>Tributes have been pouring in for the legendary rocker, with Crosby’s former bandmate Graham Nash expressing his “profound sadness” at the news.</p> <p>“I know people tend to focus on how volatile our relationship has been at times, but what has always mattered to David and me more than anything was the pure joy of the music we created together,” Nash shared in a statement. “He leaves behind a tremendous void.”</p> <p> </p> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en" xml:lang="en" xml:lang="en">Statement from Graham Nash: <a href="https://t.co/FRmkwNcqCr">pic.twitter.com/FRmkwNcqCr</a></p> — Rob Tannenbaum (@tannenbaumr) <a href="https://twitter.com/tannenbaumr/status/1616208392581746738?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 19, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async="" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script><p>Listen to <a href="spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DZ06evO1zHU9X" rel=" noopener" target="_blank">Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; The product of hundreds of hours in the studio, the multi-platinum <i>Déjà Vu</i> boasts marvellously eclectic arrangements and immaculate harmonies, and has been cited by the likes of <i>Rolling Stone</i> and <i>VH1 </i>as one of the greatest albums of all time.</p> <p>Revisit the timeless singles below! </p> <p><b>Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; We’re revisiting the album's three Top 40 singles, <i>Teach Your Children</i>, <i>Our House </i>and <i>Woodstock</i>, that each remain classics to this day.</p> <p>With Neil Young added to the lineup, CSNY were undeniably the folk-rock era’s seminal supergroup. <i>Déjà Vu</i> is a sentimental collection that reflects, with crystal vision, the idealistic and optimistic sentiments of the times. Despite what can only be described as a fragile balance of egos between the band’s four members, all legendary in their own rights, the songs come together with a powerful collective acumen, proving that you don’t have to get along to share a path to greatness. </p> <p>Perhaps the album (and the band’s) most well-known hit, <i>Teach Your Children </i>was penned by Graham Nash. It surmises the late ’60s with gilded goals of a better future, one not out of reach with the power of foreplanning. </p> <p><b>Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; Young | 'Teach Your Children'</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-dqoaunsmjr8--3" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/dQOaUnSmJr8?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>Another Nash penned single from <i>Deja Vu</i>, <i>Our House</i> pays homage “to countercultural domestic bliss",  and was written when Nash was living with fellow folk icon, <b>Joni Mitchell </b>while recording the album. </p> <p><b>Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; Although the event, heavily attended by Hells Angels members, infamously descended into mayhem and violence, the lineup was incredible, featuring performances by <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/watch-the-rolling-stones-searing-sympathy-for-the-devil-live-debut-from-1968">The Rolling Stones</a>, <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/new-years-flashback-to-the-grateful-dead-at-winterland-ballroom-in-1978">Grateful Dead</a>, <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/grace-slick-80-jefferson-starship">Jefferson Airplane</a>, <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/crosby-stills-nash-and-young-announce-expansive-50th-anniversary-deja-vu-reissue">Crosby Stills &amp; Nash</a> and more. </p> <p>Now, previously unseen footage of the concert has been shared for the first time by Britain’s Library of Congress. The footage comes from archivist Rick Prelinger’s 200,000-reel collection that was given over to the Library this year and found on “two reels of silent 8mm reversal positive – a common home movie format” which was accompanied by a handwritten note that read “Stones in the Park,” according to the library’s Head of Moving Image Section, Mike Mashon. </p> <p>While footage of the event has previously appeared in the Maysles Brothers’ documentary <i>Gimme Shelter</i>, this latest glimpse has never been seen before. The video comes without audio, but captures priceless performances by the Rolling Stones, CSNY and more, performing live with Hells Angels guarding the stage, as well as showing them hanging out in the crowd. Watch below.</p> <p><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="600" scrolling="no" width="697" data-src="https://www.loc.gov/item/2020600221?loclr=blognsh&amp;embed=resources" class="optanon-category-C0003"></iframe></p> <p>“When I saw that, I immediately thought that it could be a home movie of the July 5, 1969, Rolling Stones Hyde Park concert held in London a couple of days after the death of guitarist Brian Jones,” Mashon wrote. “But it could also be a copy of a documentary of the same name, which would make the discovery considerably less interesting.”</p> <p>“Regardless, I sent the reels up for 2K digitization by our film preservation laboratory. A couple of days later, I heard from some very excited colleagues that the scan wasn’t the Hyde Park show. It was from the Altamont Speedway concert in California and it definitely wasn’t footage from the 1970 documentary. Many people know the <i>Gimme Shelter</i> documentary pretty well, but there’s a lot more in this home movie.”</p> <p><a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/watch-the-rolling-stones-searing-sympathy-for-the-devil-live-debut-from-1968">READ MORE: WATCH THE ROLLING STONES’ SEARING 'SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL' LIVE DEBUT FROM 1968</a></p> <p>Listen to <a href="spotify:playlist:46OyXpH7hbhgupWSRTQaQT" rel=" noopener" target="_blank">Classic Rock Radio</a> on Spotify:</p> <p><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" width="300" data-src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/playlist/46OyXpH7hbhgupWSRTQaQT" class="optanon-category-C0003"></iframe></p> <p>Listen to <a href="https://music.apple.com/au/playlist/classic-rock-radio/pl.31fc1dc38e674f9688534e454336e3c6" rel=" noopener" target="_blank">Classic Rock Radio</a> on Apple Music: </p> <p><iframe allow="autoplay *; Over the past five decades, he has released a prolific amount of music as a solo artist, and as a member of iconic bands like <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/stop-hey-whats-that-sound">Buffalo Springfield</a> and <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/crosby-stills-nash-young-the-wild-definitive-saga-of-rocks-greatest-supergroup">Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; Young</a>. But no matter where his mood leads him, there is a continuous thread of stark honesty running trough his entire body of work, turning it collectively into some sort of almanac of inescapable truths that, while not always comfortable to hear, are good for the soul. </p> <p>In June this year, Young released what is technically his fortieth album, <i>Homegrown</i>, but it’s far from new. The 12 songs were recorded between June 1974 and January 1975 and originally intended to come out in 1975. But Neil cancelled the release, deeming the album too personal. In a <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/neil-young-the-rolling-stone-interview-123513/">1975 Rolling Stone interview</a>, Young described Homegrown as “the darker side” of <i>Harvest</i> – not a particularly upbeat album in itself – and told him: <i>“A lot of the songs had to do with me breaking up with my old lady. It was a little too personal. . .  It scared me.”</i></p> <p><i>Homegrown</i> features some music’s biggest stars of the era, including <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/emmylou-harris-the-ballad-of-sally-rose">EmmyLou Harris </a>and <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/bruce-springsteen-eric-clapton-feature-in-once-were-brothers-robbie-robertson-and-the-band-documentary">Robbie Robertson</a>, and immortalises a moment in time when Young and his CSNY bandmates were learning the lessons of success and consequences of excess. Now, after 46 years, the wounds have healed (enough), and Young has finally released the mysterious ‘lost’ album that has achieved legendary status over time, with fans left to wonder about the album too emotionally raw for an artist iconised by his rawness. </p> <p>Opening track, “Separate Ways” is a meditation of acceptance with a timeless theme of moving on. As the story goes – after learning that his wife had taken off on a five-day Hawaiian boat trip with another man, Young threw his heartbroken self into a 24-date tour with Crosby, Stills and Nash, that would ultimately be coined “the Doom Tour” by David Crosby. Despite being one of the highest-grossing tours of all time, thanks to an endless list of expensive indulgences, it earned the group very little money and strained already tenuous relations further. </p> <p><b>Neil Young | “Separate Ways” </b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-tsscq4di-r8" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/TSScq4DI-R8?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>Mostly the album is compiled of stripped-back love songs, a far cry from the unapologetic discordant distortion of 1979’s <i>Rust Never Sleeps</i>, but as equally shaded by light and dark, and perhaps even more menacing for its restraint.   </p> <p><b>Neil Young | “Kansas”</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-fqft4oos3aw" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/fQft4Oos3Aw?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>On the other end of the spectrum is “Florida,” a two and a half minute spoken-word number where Young tells a story about visiting a sunny town, where everyone’s wearing “nice pants” and drinking pop until a free-falling hang-glider crashes into a family and Young rescues their baby… or so he thinks. </p> <p><b>Neil Young | “Florida”</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-robfpprwoa4" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/rObFpPrwoA4?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>There's also a stack of classic sounding tracks like “Love Is a Rose,” “Little Wing” and “White Line” that have all appeared as alternate versions on other albums over the years. </p> <p><b>Neil Young | “White Line”</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-rnkloft0z1c" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/rNKlOfT0Z1c?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>“Sometimes life hurts,” Neil Young wrote in a blog <a href="https://neilyoungarchives.com/" target="_blank">post</a> announcing the release of <i>Homegrown.</i> “This is the one that got away.”</p> <p>Until now. Pre-order <i>Homegrown </i>on vinyl, <a href="https://store.warnermusic.com.au/collections/neil-young/products/homegrown-vinyl" target="_blank">here.</a> </p> <p>Listen to <a href="spotify:album:08wQogg47jUetQkJjqjn6B" target="_blank">Homegrown</a> on Spotify:</p> <p><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" width="300" data-src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/album/08wQogg47jUetQkJjqjn6B" class="optanon-category-C0003"></iframe></p> <p>Listen to <a href="https://music.apple.com/au/album/homegrown/1503329225" target="_blank">Homegrown</a> on Apple Music:</p> <p><iframe allow="autoplay *; Her staggered vocal delivery in the verses make each word break through your consciousness, imploring you to pay attention to every detail of the important story she's telling you. And it's a timeless story, as important today as it was the day she wrote it. </p> <p>Mitchell recorded <i>Ladies of the Canyon </i>after moving to LA from Canada, via New York. The expanse of this adjustment sits at the centre of this joyous album. In the title track, Mitchell pays homage to the city’s sunny, bohemian, west coast ways of life, as she turns her gaze outward with rose-coloured perspective to find her place in the post-hippie/counter-culture scene gathering momentum in California at the dawn of the 1970s. </p> <p><b>"Ladies of the Canyon"</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-obrvlfcvlag" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/obRVlFCVlAg?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>The sophisticated, self-produced set of songs also marked a period of rapid musical development for Mitchell who builds a rich sonic palette with the addition of strings, piano, clarinet, saxophone and percussion to her signature prairie soprano vocals and idiosyncratic guitar tunings.</p> <p>Even the complexity of Joni’s relationship with the members of <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/happy-50th-crosby-stills-nash">Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; Young </a>failed to dial down the sunshine in her heart as she celebrates the gathering of her tribe on the track "Woodstock" – not that she ever actually made it to Woodstock, as she explains in this enchanting live video below. </p> <p><b>"Woodstock" (Live, 1970)</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-crjqcvfcxn0" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/cRjQCvfcXn0?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>And for her friend and fellow countryman, <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/neil-youngs-worst-album-covers">Neil Young</a>, Joni wrote one of the album’s more recognisable tracks, jazzy closer, “The Circle Game” in response to his song “Sugar Mountain” which he wrote in 1964 at the tender age of 19. Speaking live in concert in London in 1970, Mitchell said: <i>“[Young] wrote that was called ‘Oh to live on a Sugar Mountain’ which was a lament to his youth. And I thought, God, you know, if we get to 21 and there’s nothing after that, that’s a pretty bleak future. So, I wrote a song for him, and for myself just to give me some hope. It’s called ‘The Circle Game.’”</i></p> <p><b>"The Circle Game"</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-5nekjhbhh54" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/5NEkJhBHh54?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>Chances are, now half a century later, as Neil Young sings in front of the fire at his Colorado ranch with wife Darryl Hannah by his side, he would now agree with Joni that there is indeed more than one Sugar Mountain to climb in life. </p> <p><i>Ladies of the Canyon </i>delivers Joni’s full range of talents, as a singer, songwriter, storyteller, poet and musician, with a captivating innocence that shines through like a ray of golden light – much like Joni herself.</p> <p>Listen to <a href="spotify:album:7JOdtLDLyXJIppDRB7kxr9" target="_blank">Ladies of the Canyon</a> on Spotify:</p> <p><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" width="300" data-src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/album/7JOdtLDLyXJIppDRB7kxr9" class="optanon-category-C0003"></iframe></p> <p>Listen to <a href="https://embed.music.apple.com/us/album/ladies-of-the-canyon/1492312524%22%3e%3c/iframe%3e" target="_blank">Ladies of the Canyon</a> on Apple Music:</p> <p><iframe allow="autoplay *; Back in 1969, the Welsh singer launched his own TV show called, <i>This Is Tom Jones</i> – an incredible variety series running for two years. Across 65 episodes, the show’s host and star was joined by a cast of high-profile guests to perform some of the best duets prime time TV has ever seen. Enjoy the highlights below.  </p> <p><b>Tom Jones &amp; Dusty Springfield | “I'm Gonna Make You Love Me” [This is Tom Jones, 1970]</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-jjcx6ulymcs" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/JjCX6ulYmCs?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p><a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/dusty-springfield-dusty-in-memphis-50th-anniversary">Dusty</a>’s voice just melts your heart, and Tom’s judging by the look in his eye. But, he proves himself a more than worthy sparring partner for the Queen of Blue-Eyed Soul!</p> <p><b>Cher &amp; Tom Jones | “The Beat Goes On” [This Is Tom Jones, 1969]</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-nzgwi2zjlt8" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/NzGWI2zjLt8?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>Tom shows his rougher side, <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/cher-breaks-down-22-looks-1965-to-now-vogue">Cher</a> her captivating nonchalance in this stripped-back performance. The pair’s delivery is deceptively laid back, with an electric undercurrent that keeps you hanging on every word. Apart from ending on an awkwardly outdated skit from Sonny, this one’s simply flawless.  </p> <p><b>Tom Jones &amp; Joe Cocker | “Delta Lady’  [This is Tom Jones, 1970]</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-v1gxvoclzci" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/V1gxVOcLZcI?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>Tom Jones and <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/classic-rock-on-netflix-12-awesome-documentaries-and-movies">Joe Cocker</a> are hardly cut from the same cloth, but this rendition of “Delta Lady” proves them be a remarkably complementary pairing! Their voices blend together to create a majestic gospel chorus and Joe delivers a showstopping bridge. Even their valiantly varied dance styles make for an unlikely perfect match. </p> <p><b>Tom Jones &amp; Crosby, Stills, Nash &amp; Young | “Long Time Gone”  [This is Tom Jones, 1969]</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-didza0ydso8" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/dIDzA0YDso8?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>Tom is clearly overjoyed to be singing over the buttery harmonies on a stage jam-packed with future legends. <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/neil-youngs-worst-album-covers">Neil Young</a> more or less invents the amped-up rock revolution that would arrive a decade or so later when he crashes in with an anachronistic searing guitar solo at 2:05. The mischievous look on his face suggests he knows exactly what he’s doing.</p> <p><b>Tom Jones &amp; Janis Joplin | “Raise Your Hand”  [This is Tom Jones, 1969]</b></p> <div class="video-embed-field-provider-youtube"><iframe width="854" height="480" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" id="ytplayer-mzmiefq5y4u" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/mZmiefQ5y4U?autoplay=0&amp;start=0&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1"></iframe> </div> <p>Tom Jones meets his match in <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/watch-janis-joplin-sing-the-sumertime-blues">Janis Joplin</a> on their duet of “Raise Your Hand” in 1969. Right out of the gate, Janis stakes her claim with the type of wildly confident, bluesy entrance that, judging by the look on Tom’s face, he never dreamed possible. You can almost see the moment his mind implodes as she stumbles over the word “crying” at 16 seconds in. Tom recovers and boldly holds his own, but it turns out Janis was just getting warmed up. He surrenders to her unbeatable scream in the breakdown, happily go-go dancing his way to the end, totally in awe of his electrifying adversary.</p> </div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-tag-tier2 field--type-entity-reference field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Tags Tier 2</div> <div class="field__items"> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/60s-0" hreflang="en">60s</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/70s-0" hreflang="en">70s</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/rock-1" hreflang="en">rock</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/soul-2" hreflang="en">soul</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/pop-1" hreflang="en">pop</a></div> </div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-slu field--type-string-long field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Slug URL</div> <div class="field__item">highlights-from-the-this-is-tom-jones-tv-show</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-author-name field--type-string field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Author Name</div> <div class="field__item">Kara Jayne</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-isfeaturednews field--type-boolean field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Show in Header Carousel</div> <div class="field__items"> <div class="field__item">Off</div> </div> </div> Wed, 01 Apr 2020 00:50:23 +0000 Site Factory admin 222746 at https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com Watch: In My Room With Graham Nash https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/watch-in-my-room-with-graham-nash <span class="field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden">Watch: In My Room With Graham Nash</span> <span class="field field--name-uid field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden"><span lang="" about="/user/1" typeof="schema:Person" property="schema:name" datatype="">Site Factory admin</span></span> <span class="field field--name-created field--type-created field--label-hidden">Mon, 03/30/2020 - 11:12</span> <div class="field field--name-field-newsid field--type-string field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">News id</div> <div class="field__item">74011</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-blog-thumbnail field--type-image field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Blog Thumbnail</div> <div class="field__items"> <div class="field__item"> <img loading="lazy" src="/sites/g/files/g2000009801/files/2020-03/graham-nash.jpg" width="1000" height="600" alt="Watch: In My Room With Graham Nash" title="Watch: In My Room With Graham Nash" typeof="foaf:Image" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Body</div> <div class="field__item"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="charset=utf-8" /><figure role="group" class="align-center"><img alt="graham nash" data-entity-type="file" data-entity-uuid="5efc3bd2-6e8f-4f3e-b5cc-9bce6f968ae4" src="/sites/g/files/g2000009801/files/graham-nash.jpg" /><figcaption><em>Graham Nash. Prior to playing, he addressed the camera with, <i>“a shout out to all the medical people, all the postmen and postwomen. All the people that are risking their lives to make our lives better. And we need to help them, too…we need to stay home. We need to not spread this virus. Talking about being at home, why don’t I sing “Our House” for you?”</i></p> <p>He then shifted to the acoustic guitar to play “4 + 20,” a song written by Stephen Stills that “completely amazed” Nash when he first heard it. Nash ended with “Teach Your Children,” and a reminder to look after each other, saying: <i>“We’re all in this together. We will make it together. Stay at home, wash your hands, don’t spread the virus.”</i></p> <p>Graham Nash’s ‘In My Room’ segment follows on from Brian Wilson’s (and others) own at home performance – <a href="https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com/news/see-brian-wilson-feature-in-new-igtv-series-in-my-room" target="_blank">which can be viewed here.</a> </p> <p>Listen to <a href="spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DZ06evO0Uhzx2" target="_blank">CSNY</a> on Spotify:</p> <p><iframe allow="encrypted-media" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="380" width="300" data-src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/playlist/37i9dQZF1DZ06evO0Uhzx2" class="optanon-category-C0003"></iframe></p> <p>Listen to <a href="https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/crosby-stills-nash-young-essentials/pl.e6415eb954a7489e97ea99226f9dd66a" target="_blank">CSNY</a> on Apple Music:</p> <p><iframe allow="autoplay *; encrypted-media *;" frameborder="0" height="450" sandbox="allow-forms allow-popups allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-storage-access-by-user-activation allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation" style="width:100%;max-width:660px;overflow:hidden;background:transparent;" data-src="https://embed.music.apple.com/us/playlist/crosby-stills-nash-young-essentials/pl.e6415eb954a7489e97ea99226f9dd66a" class="optanon-category-C0003"></iframe></p> </div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-tag-tier2 field--type-entity-reference field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Tags Tier 2</div> <div class="field__items"> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/60s-0" hreflang="en">60s</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/70s-0" hreflang="en">70s</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/80s-0" hreflang="en">80s</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/90s-1" hreflang="en">90s</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/00s" hreflang="en">00s</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/classic-rock-1" hreflang="en">classic rock</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/folk-2" hreflang="en">folk</a></div> <div class="field__item"><a href="/tags/rock-1" hreflang="en">rock</a></div> </div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-slu field--type-string-long field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Slug URL</div> <div class="field__item">watch-in-my-room-with-graham-nash</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-author-name field--type-string field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Author Name</div> <div class="field__item">Kara Jayne</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-isfeaturednews field--type-boolean field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Show in Header Carousel</div> <div class="field__items"> <div class="field__item">Off</div> </div> </div> Mon, 30 Mar 2020 00:12:13 +0000 Site Factory admin 222781 at https://www.ilikeyouroldstuff.com
