Attention all you Stoogeaholics out there! Check out this great facebook group named in your honour, and this incredible image that has just knocked our resident Stoogeaholic for six. This photo, taken in December 1974, is likely the last known photo of the Stooges enigmatic original bassplayer Dave Alexander hanging out with his former bandmates Ron and Scott Asheton (and possibly their mom!), as well as former road manager and second guitarist Bill Cheatham (who briefly joined the band in 1970, after Dave’s departure, and who died in the late 1990’s).

Images of Dave Alexander post-Stooges are few and far between, and the date of the photo, together with the fact that it features four of the five deceased Stooges together (sax player Steve McKay is the other Stooge no longer with us) makes this a particularly poignant photo.

Need more Stooges, don’t forget the soundtrack to the critically acclaimed Stooges Documentary Gimme Danger is available now.

Lastly, you can enter our competition to win a Stooges prize pack including the Gimme Danger DVD and a copy of the blistering soundtrack here. Hurry, final days to enter!
