It was 50 years ago this week that the iconic image of the Beatles crossing Abbey Road was taken.

Shot by Iain Macmillan just outside the famous Abbey Road Studios for the Beatles last ever studio album, it is said that the shoot only lasted 15minutes due to oncoming traffic and that the final shot was one of only six taken. 

The now-legendary piece of art was today replicated by thousands of Beatles fans to commemorate the 50th Anniversary. Traffic came to a halt as police urged people to keep moving.
