The first-ever band authorized documentary focused on classic rock legends Led Zeppelin has been completed.

Director, Bernard MacMahon has confirmed the news along with the film's title, Becoming Led Zeppelin.

Becoming Led Zeppelin is a film that no one thought could be made,” MacMahon said in a statement (via NME). “The band’s meteoric rise to stardom was swift and virtually undocumented. Through an intense search across the globe and years of restoration of the visual and audio archive found, this story is finally able to be told.”

The film was first announced in May 2019, following celebrations of the band’s 50th anniversary back in 2018. MacMahon was granted “unprecedented access” to the band, marking the first time in 50 years that the classic rock legends have participated in a documentary.

Becoming Led Zeppelin will feature new interviews with surviving members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones, along with rare archival interviews with the late John Bonham, who died in 1980, plus uncovered photographs and videos.

A release date for the film is yet to be confirmed. We will keep you posted.
