Just when you thought it couldn’t possibly get any better, Bluesfest has just gone and announced ten more acts to the already jam-packed 2020 line up – and it's news worth celebrating!

Get out your dancing shoes because disco trailblazers, Kool & The Gang, will have you riding a horn-laden, funk-fusion, wave of nostalgic groove with classic hits like “Get Down On It” and “Celebration.”

And, you’ll want to make sure to be in top shape because joining Kool & the Gang will be The Gipsy Kings who will also have you burning up the dancefloor with their Latin salsa flare.

Homegrown additions include Guy Sebastian, country legend Troy Cassar-Daley, Albany trio The Waifs will also be joining the party, along with Australian blues legends, Chain who will be celebrating their 52nd year since forming in 1968.

Festival boss Peter Noble says: “I am thrilled to say that our headliners on this announcement have almost 100,000,000 album sales between them,” before going on to reveal a few more lineup surprises.

“The mighty Allen Stone, a real-deal Bluesfest favourite who is becoming another breakout star following his numerous appearances over the years. Dweezil Zappa will be playing his Dad’s brilliant record ‘Hot Rats’. Winner of the European Guitarist of the Year – Erja Lyytinen, Australia’s greatest ever blues band – Chain and so much more. Stay tuned for another lot of amazing additions for what is fast becoming one of our greatest lineups ever!”

And that's no exaggeration! For a festival already topped by none-other than Crowded House, Patti Smith, Dave Matthews Band, Lenny Kravitz, Eagles Of Death Metal, Morcheeba, local heroes John Butler, Xavier Rudd, The Cat Empire and more, you could be forgiven for assuming that the 2020 Bluesfest line up has reached peak capacity; but no, this is just one of many more line up announcements to come, so … you know – pace yourself.

The 31st annual Byron Bay Bluesfest will run from Thursday, 9th April til Monday, 13th April 2020 at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, with promoters promising “the best festival yet”. Check out the Byron Bay Bluesfest 2020 line up – so far – in all its glory, below!
