Bob Dylan has announced the upcoming release of his brand new book, titled The Philosophy of Modern Song via Simon & Schuester on November 8, 2022. 

According to a press release, Dylan has been writing the book since about 2010. It will be his first publication since the release of Chronicles Vol. 1, published in 2004, which won him a Nobel Prize for literature in 2016. 

The Philosophy of Modern Song gives an in-depth exploration of Dylan’s songwriting process, through his analysis of the songs of iconic artists, such as Nina Simone, Elvis Costello, Hank Williams, Stephen Foster and many more, promising to be laugh-out-loud funny.
