Faith No More have sent fans into a frenzy of anticipation over the weekend with a rather cryptic post from their social media accounts. The band shared this image of their eight-pointed star logo over the top of a snow-capped mountainous backdrop and a mysteriously simple caption reading: "psssst."
While such a caption definitely suggests that something secret is on the way, no official details have been released just yet. But it seems we won’t have to wait long to find out – the band's website has also been updated with the same image, along with a countdown clock that's set to hit zero on Tuesday afternoon (Nov 26), leading fans to speculate that a big announcement is on the way.
It’s been four years since alt-metal icons, Faith No More released their critically acclaimed comeback album Sol Invictus, and a little over two since Mike Patton said that the band were on an “extended break.” As Blabbermouth reports, last year the band’s keyboardist Roddy Bottum revealed in an interview that he’d been making new music with his fellow Faith No More bandmates drummer Mike Bordin and bassist Billy Gould, saying: “I think we all acknowledge that it's not something that any of us wanna turn our backs on, and it's kind of fun to do. So in the hopes of pushing things forward and making new music, we continue to do that, to get together and make new sounds and just have a dialogue about prospects and songs and where we go in the future."
