Farewell, Mick Fettes

Posted

As many of you will have heard by now, Mick Fettes, the wonderful and wonderfully eccentric singer from early ‘70s Melbourne band (and the original Mushroom Records group) Madder Lake, sadly passed away earlier this months. He was 65. He’d been living in Ballarat recently. Here’s a fantastic clip of Mick and the band in full flight in 1973 with the all Australian CLASSIC ‘12lb Toothbrush’!! (And you can give Madder Lake’s ‘Best of’ a spin here.

And from 2009, Mick singing the same song at Rockwiz’s celebrations for 50th birthday of The Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. The hair may have gone, but some of the wild-eyed glee was still there for sure...

Vale Mick.
