Linda Ronstadt shot straight to number one on the US singles chart when she released You’re No Good in 1975. Incredibly, it was the powerhouse vocalist’s only solo chart-topper out of 12 Top 40 entries.

The hit was penned by Clint Ballard Jr. and originally performed by Dee Dee Warwick in 1963. While many artists have offered up their own take on the cathartic soul hit, Ronstadt channelled the song’s ethos in spades with her searing delivery.

Linda Ronstadt released more than two dozen studio albums during her stellar career five-decade career. Her only live album, Live In Hollywood arrived in 2019 and featured a treasure trove of amazing performances from a concert that Ronstadt recorded in 1980 for her acclaimed HBO television special. Enjoy a fierce performance of You’re No Good from that release, below!
