Nick Cave has announced a forthcoming spoken word album Seven Psalms, recorded in collaboration with his longtime writing partner, Warren Ellis, will be arriving on June 17th. Pre-order here.
According to a statement, the new spoken-word record was at the same time as 2021’s Carnage sessions and will feature “seven spoken word pieces set to music.”
“While in lockdown I wrote a number of psalms, or small, sacred songs — one a day for a week,” Cave says. “The seven psalms are presented as one long meditation — on faith, rage, love, grief, mercy, sex and praise. A strange, contemplative offering borne of an uncertain time. I hope you like it.”

Seven Psalms will be released on limited edition 10″ vinyl that includes a 12-minute instrumental B-side. You can pre-order it, here.
Later this year, Cave and Ellis will embark on an Australian tour after announcing that includes two exclusive shows at the iconic Hanging Rock in Victoria. The Australian Carnage Tour kicks off in November – see here for ticket info!
In October last year, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds released an extensive collection titled, B-Sides & Rarities Part II, following on from 2005’s B-Sides & Rarities Part I. The album features 27 tracks from Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! in 2006 to 2019s Ghosteen, plus 19 other rare and unreleased tracks from more recent albums.
