Incredibly sad news received today that one of music's most respected and iconic figures has passed.

Aretha influenced a generation through soul, and her ability to inspire through song. She lived with an incredible attitude and a talent that drew people together for her entire career, more than 50 years. From releasing gospel songs at age 14, through to winning 18 Grammy's, Aretha remained possibly the most authentic of all superstars.
A statement from her family revealed, "In one of the darkest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our heart."
"We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins knew no bounds."
