This year’s BottleRock festival is going to be simply massive! Organisers have just announced that LA icons Red Hot Chili Peppers, two-time Rock and Roll of Fame honouree Stevie Nicks and festival veterans Dave Matthews Band will share the headline spot for the 2020 event, from May 22-24 in the heart of Northern California.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The headliners will be joined by an extensive and eclectic cast of chart-topping artists, including legendary post-punk pioneers Blondie, pop provocateur Miley Cyrus, 2019 Grammy winner Brandi Carlile and nominee Janelle Monae, indie duo Tegan and Sara, our very own Empire of the Sun, Village People, Jimmy Eat World and so, so many more!
“It’s the deepest lineup that we have ever had,” Dave Graham, chief executive of BottleRock Napa Valley told Billboard. “No matter how you want to measure it, whether it’s ticket sales, per band, the depth of the talent on the seventh or eighth lines of the lineup or on money spent, it’s our strongest lineup to date.”
“Dave Matthews Band was the first headliners we booked this year … it’s someone we have always wanted, it was just a matter of waiting for the stars to align,” Graham said. “Each year you have your wishlist and then you look at what is available on that wishlist. What was so interesting about this year was the number of huge female touring artists performing in 2020.”
The Chili Peppers will be celebrating the highly-anticipated return of former guitarist John Frusciante after a ten-year hiatus while Nicks returns fresh from a record-breaking Fleetwood Mac tour to perform one of her first solo shows in almost three years.

“This particular year the stars aligned, and we were able to put together what, for us, will be the strongest female presence in our lineup to date. The stars aligned. We didn't take an approach to booking such a deep female lineup. But as we were booking it, we could see that it was happening.” See the full lineup at BottleRockNapaValley.com.
It may be one of the all-time best excuses to plan yourself a Californian holiday!
