Thousands of Facebook fans have jumped onboard a campaign calling for Fleetwood Mac singer - and certified rock royalty - Stevie Nicks, to work a shift at the Fleetwood branch of McDonald's in the UK's Lancashire.

This may seem like the ultimate comedown for the woman who was just nominated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a second time – an unheard-of feat. But, surely our Stevie’s not afraid of a little hard work!

However, with over 16,000 fans registering their interest in the ‘event’, the short three-hour shift from 8am-11am on a busy Saturday morning would likely make it into the Guinness Book of Records.

Responding to the page, a McDonald’s spokesman said (via NME): “We’ve heard some ‘rumours’ that Stevie Nicks might be keen to visit our own Fleetwood Macs. Next time she’s in the area we’d be delighted to welcome her for some 'sweet little fries' before she ‘goes her own way’…”

Nicks is yet to respond to the campaign, but, if you do the math, at over 4000 customers an hour - I’m guessing she’s checked herself into an intensive burger-flipping boot-camp!

Skills learned on Stevie's first job as a waitress before joining the Mac may just come in handy! And with our very own Fleetwood Macchiato cafe n Sydney's inner-west, perhaps a hospitality world tour is on the cards!

In celebration of cool 'rumours', get into our Fleetwood Mac - Rumors playlist, featuring extra live recordings, early demos and alternate versions of some of Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits.
