According to Vince Neil, Netflix will finally be releasing The Dirt, the Motley Crue movie based on the band’s 2001 memoir of the same name.

“Wow!!! Just left Netflix offices,” he tweeted. “Just saw ‘The Dirt’ movie!! Fuckin awesome!! Can’t wait for everyone to see it! Released March 22!! Yea!!!”

If Neil is correct, the long-awaited rock-themed film will be coming to us on March 22, 2019. Long-awaited because The Dirt actually began production way back in 2006! Lucky for us, Netflix picked it up last year and really got things moving along.

Neil is played by Daniel Webber, Sixx by Douglas Cooper, Mick Mars by Iwan Rheon and Tommy Lee by Machine Gun Kelly.

Many fans were under the impression that the band split at the end of their final world tour a few years back. Neil confirmed that they reunited to record a couple songs for the movie soundtrack, saying “For those of you who don’t understand, yes 'the boys' means Motley and we signed a contract not to tour anymore, we never broke up or said we would never make music again. Hope this clears it up."

Bassist Nikki Sixx commented on the new music as well, “I’m listening to the roughs of the new Motley Crue and it feels real and raw. Everybody is playing like mad and the songs crush."
