We’re remembering this stunning moment on British TV when two icons to be, The Smiths' frontman Morrissey and Wham! singer George Michael, took some time out to chat about one of the most influential British bands of all time, Joy Division, along with some other to topics of the era… like breakdancing.

With Wham! being one of the biggest pop bands in the world at the time, and Morrissey  intent on reinventing pop culture with his brooding romantic New Wave band, it’s no surprise they don’t see eye to eye on all topics – but does make for some entertaining viewing!

Enjoy a young George Michael and Stephen Morrissey’s intellectual sparring match below.

“George, I wouldn’t imagine you as a Joy Division fan, maybe I’m wrong?”
