This week in 1971, Led Zeppelin was riding high on the success of their fourth studio album, Led Zeppelin IV which was sitting in the Top 10 of the US album charts one month after it was released. It was produced by the band’s prodigal guitarist, Jimmy Page who shines on the album’s most notable single, Stairway To Heaven which has since been described as the band's signature song.
Led Zeppelin IV is the rock legends’ best-selling album, shipping over 37 million copies worldwide! Critics have regularly placed it highly on lists of the greatest albums of all time, including ranking No.1 on Classic Rock magazine's on '100 Greatest British Albums' poll in 2006, and No.1 in a poll conducted by Guitar World.
